What is an Escape Room?

An Escape Room is a puzzle room where your team is escorted into a room with a common task to achieve within a set time frame. Success depends on cooperation, observation, teamwork, and logical deduction.

I am a newbie. Can you provide me with tips and tricks?

Yes, absolutely. The best out there is a short (11 minute) video by Mark Rober.

How do I book an Escape Room?

Click the Escape Room tab at top and click into each of our two games. Once you find the game you like, select the day/time and continue completing your booking. Games are booked online ONLY and can be booked up to 30 minutes before the starting time. QR Codes are available on table tents placed on tables throughout Grand Illusion Hard Cider.

How much does an Escape Room cost?

Our larger/longer (1 hour) room is $125 for up to five players; $150 for six. Our smaller/shorter room (30 min) is $80 for up to four players.

Will I be playing with other participants?

No. All bookings are private and reserve the whole Escape Room. Only ONE person can book and pay for all players; this eliminates the opportunity for someone else, you do not know, to book a spot in the room.

What should I bring with me?

No outside knowledge is needed to solve the puzzles. All clues are internal to the Escape Rooms. Cell phones, books, survival gear are all not required. Smart family and friends are recommended.

Is there a minimum age to play? Do you require a chaperone for younger players?

The recommended ages for our games are 12 and up. Younger players, 14 and under, are allowed with a paying adult, 18 or older, but some of the game content may be more difficult for them.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans change, so reservations can be changed up to 24 hours before your game (follow link in your confirmation email). Email Events@GrandIllusionCider.com within 24 hours if you must cancel.

If there are fewer players than room maximum, does it cost less?

No. Given the structure of private rooms (no stranger can book into your room), we set base prices, regardless of number of participants. See “how much does it cost?” above.

Can Grand Illusion Hard Cider gift cards be used to book Escape Rooms?

Gift cards purchased in person (the plastic cards) CANNOT be used for Escape Rooms or monthly events but can be used for everything else (food/drink/merch). Unfortunately, the systems we use do not allow for cross payments. You can purchase gift cards/vouchers online from our website (these are not physical but are given a special code). These cards/vouchers can be only used to purchase Escape Rooms or pay for monthly events like Murder Mysteries, Paint Nights, etc. They make great gifts.

I did not get a confirmation email. Did my booking go through?

Shortly after you provide payment and process your booking, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided. Please make sure to check your spam/junk folder. If you still do not see it, please email Events@GrandIllusionCider.com with your name, event and day/time of your booking and someone will confirm the booking ASAP. Please DO NOT call Grand Illusion Hard Cider. Email is best for all involved.

Can I bring drinks to the Escape Rooms?

If you have unfinished drinks from your meal and your booking time is approaching, please ask your server for plastic cups. You may bring your unfinished drinks to the 3rd floor and finish them there before entering the Escape Room. No drinks are permitted inside the playing areas.
